Numbers of females of reproductive age either overweight or obese by region
Notes for researchers
The chart focuses the potential number of females at increased risk of adverse outcomes in pregnancy through overweight and obesity. The chart presents the estimated numbers of females of reproductive age overweight BMI (25-29.9 kg/m²) or obese (BMI ≥30 kg/m²) by region around the world. The data are based on an unpublished World Obesity analysis. The analysis is 2010 update of the 2000 Global Burden of Disease. The countries within the analysis are selected on the appropriateness and availability of the data. Due to limitations with data availability reproductive age in this instance is defined as 15-44 years. © World Obesity Federation, November 2015.
